An eulogy.

Date July 6, 2007

The church pastor asked me to prepare an eulogy for the funeral service. I didn’t know what to write at first because this is the first time i’m writing it. So I was afraid I might screw up or write gibberish. I finally realize there is no right or wrong way of writing one. It was a last minute work so please pardon my shoddy grammatical mistakes. Having said that, I think it is morbid for any one to prepare their eulogy in advance.

First and foremost, I would like to thank every one who attended this funeral service. I am sure my brother would appreciate your thoughtfulness.

My brother was a good man and he’s a goal-driven person who never gives up until the end. As a child up to his teenage years, he was a very active boy who excels in sports and outdoor curriculums.

Some how I wish I could be as multi talented as him because I’ve always been inferior in this aspect. Although it appears that I’ve always been hard on him during our childhood years, deep in me, I am always proud of him. Not only he’s a talented person, he has a good personality.

I remember him as one of the most patient person I ever know because no matter how unreasonable some of my demands is, he will always find ways to accommodate me. I, as an older brother should be ashamed and I seek his forgiveness for being an obnoxious sibling. Most important of all, he is always there to help out any one he know who’s in need without asking anything in return. In another words, he has been a very good son, a very good brother and I am blessed to be able to receive his love ever since he became a part of our family.

That is how most of his good friends were drawn on his qualities, sitting right there (me pointing at his friends). Because of his good characteristics, there are many people who are sad at his passing but I urge every one of you not to remember this sad moment because we should remember all the sweet memories he gave us all these years instead since this is not the last time we are going to hear from Jonathan but it is just the beginning for him in his trip to eternal life.

May God bless Jonathan’s soul.

PS:- This is my first time writing an eulogy and it kinda sucks to know my first is for my brother.
