Any matches involves the Malaysian team is the best among many groups because we get to see a barrage of goals. Did you see any teams in other group score as many goals in our group? Nil, zero entertainment. Not only there are many goals, there are also drama on the stadium, as we have protesters on the stand. Action packed match is expected against Iran. In case you are wondering, Leonidas is not going to crawl out from his tomb to help us perform a 300. He has zero tolerance against wusses.
Instead of bringing supportive banners, we decided to be more creative this time.
If you think the entertainment ends here, you are wrong. Dead wrong. As usual, we have the damage control team, we have a coach that says we lost to a “better” team. Best of all, we have world class press conference. “Its very susah to contain them. Whatever we do, semua tak jadi against them” he said. “We lost to a better team. We tried to make corrections from our first match, but it failed,” added Norizan. Maybe it is his own way of saying his own team suck, in a polite manner.
It’s a pity we did play against Manchester United. You can start imagining what he might say in the press, should his team lose 10-0 against the Red Devils. It might sound something like this. “We lost to a world class team, it’s okay to lose, even if it’s 20-0. Anything we do will be futile, we might as well allow them to score. We should place our heads high for getting the opportunity to play against a devil”. One would wonder if the 5-0 drubbing is a subtle celebration of Malaysia’s 50th anniversary.
5-0 = 50? Sungguh patriotic.
Pray tell, which other team in the world produces such highly entertaining drama on and off the pitch? It’s ironic that even though I know how bad the team is, I still manage to watch every televised matches that involves Malaysia.
In the end it brings us to this favorite but slightly modified slogan of mine. Malaysia Boleh, FAM Boleh dibelasah.
