More lust, less caution
November 8, 2007
I went to search for Lust, Caution at uncle ho’s stall. But the uncle ho’s apprentice told me it’s not even arrived yet. Hmm weird. Bourne Ultimatum that available in cinemas not too long ago is already out but not Lust, Caution that has been around for a while. Not even cinema copy.
But then, I wouldn’t buy a cinema copy anyway. Wonder why they are taking so long. Don’t tell me the explicit sex scenes are giving them problem because such problem has always been a non issue for Uncle Ho’s movies production Sdn Bhd anyway. If this movie was never censored, I wouldn’t opt for a pirated version of it in the first place.
In a way, the decision made by the censorship board comprises of fat bastards actually encouraged piracy. The law of cause and effect. Well, all they do is ban, censor what ever deem ‘immorally’ inappropriate. Oh wait, and any movies that negatively depicts Malaysia too.
If my memory did not fail me, I remember Entrapment depicts our country as a dirty nation and it’s very blasphemous because they combined Malacca river with KLCC as the backdrop. They made the surrounding pre-war houses along river look like a slum. I was actually disgusted with that depiction ok? Why no one ban that movie?

censorship here has multiple standards. highly dependent on the movie’s potential impact on voters’ decision. sexual explicit, political sensitive, religious blasphemy just bullshit in disguise

President:- They only realize the movie was degrading the country after it was released.
Aeroplane:- Agree with you fully.
