making frequent calls to Germany

I have a friend from United States who always complained about the expensive international calling rate. Well, it’s international and it’s ought to be expensive. While he can opt for VOIP but nothing beats the feeling of calling from a real telephone. I bet he’s going to be happy if he can Call Germany at a cheap rate because his girlfriend is studying there. If he’s interested with 3longdistance, he can even apply for student rate service due to it’s obvious perks for students. With all the cheap rates that 3longdistance phone cards has to offer, I don’t think he will face any financial problem from making frequent calls to Germany soon.
