Saving Petrol
January 4, 2008
Since the price of petrol will most probably increase by this year, it’s better to find a solution. But I’m not offering any tips to save petrol by the way. I am suggesting a way to lie to yourself hoping that it is going to have a placebo effect on all of us.
Well it’s better to lie to ourself, it works most of the time if you are hoping for a miracle. The next increase is going to hurt our pocket, we can pretend there is nothing wrong with it.
Our tank petrol is measured by two alphabets, which is F and E. Instead of Full and Empty, you can also tell yourself it also stands for Finish and Enough, depending on your own interpretation.

Of course on a large scale, we all know the government screwed up (and screwed the public) by not building proper roads with good traffic flow, simply approving houses, offices & shops without thinking how it will affect traffic and making a crappy ass transport system where the LRT train lines don’t connect together properly, have lousy parking, don’t have practical feeder buses and the taxi permits are monopolized by UMNO cronies. An Indian taxi driver also pointed out that all private permits for taxis are given to Bumi’s only (you can tell a private taxi by the name printed in the white circle on the side). Fuck that, not only crap, but racist as well.

actually, from the beginning, they shouldn’t have subsides petrol in the first place…. 40-50 years ago, the government should have let petrol prices follow the world market prices at that time……. And now we won’t have the problem of “Hey, petrol prices are going up!!” talk…… because prices are already high in the first place….40-50 years ago……..or whatever…

aiya. our government where got look at the long run one??
mebe 40 years ago they saw only very little ppl had cars and driving around mah. so mah subsidized lor, since not many ppl using cars, it wouldn’t cost much to subsidize mah. they didn’t know that there would be more and more ppl using cars mah. car was a luxury back then lah.
then now leh, 1 house got minimum 2 cars. heck my hse also got 4 cars liao ler. 1 person 1 car. more cars, use more petrol, means subsidy also increase lor. public transports in msia are so damn useless. so boh pian lor. car is a necessity now. no car cannot survive lah. hehehehe.
