CNY TESCO

The road to TESCO is experiencing traffic jam at the moment. No thanks to the fact that Chinese New Year is just around the corner and every Chinese is trying to stock up their festive provision. It seems that last minute shopping always prevails for them. Well, whatever makes them happy. With the opening of Carre Four, we now have 3 hyper markets in Malacca.

However, I can’t really say the Malacca’s Carre Four is a full fledged hypermarket because it does not look like one. It just looks like small normal store to shop for groceries. Probably look the same with Mahkota Parade’s Giant with multiple levels. It is ironic that the whole Dataran Pahlawan is only manned with 4 autopay machines. Yes, they share the same machines. When it reaches peak hours, you can imagine the length of the queue.

It’s nightmarish enough and I never understand the logic of deploying limited autopay machines. Are they saving money? Let’s hope not. But sometimes I would rather park my car at a private parking space near to Newton Foodcourt during peak hours. Yes, it is quite a distance. But considering the amount of time you have to waste forming a queue, it’s quite worth it.
