Wearing Hawaiian hot pants to school.

Date March 14, 2008

Like I said before, I never made a visit to my school for almost 10 years. The last time I was there is for the purpose to collect my SPM cert and I never returned ever since. Well it was partly my fault for wearing hawaii shorts when collecting that SPM cert (now my toilet roll), I got chased out for it LOL. And being a hot headed 18 years old back then, I made a vow of never to step a foot in this damn school again.

Obviously, I finally break that stupid vow 10 years later. Since the polling station is designated to my school, I had no choice but to return. It was surreal. It feels like I have been in prison for 10 long years and I am finally released back to the society. Nothing much had change. Okay there are some changes. But not drastic enough until I cannot recognized my school.

Even this old bench is still here. We used to waste our time on this spot during recess. With that time line on it, sometimes this bench felt more like a tombstone than a bench itself.

Introducing the teacher of humanity. I would always make fun of this sign because I told my friends this cikgu memang tidak berperikemanusian.

The building on the right used to be the Peralihan block with the library on the top floor. Yes, I also used to ogled some chicks from above. It would be a different story entirely if I am ogling them from the bottom though. Library has proven to be one of the strategic places for me because I can pretend to be hardworking to impress my high school crush.

This old kemahiran hidup workshop has been converted to classrooms. At one point, the school was bogged by classrooms shortage, particularly after the inclusion of more Form 6 stream classes. Pity the Form 6 students in those days because they have to be content with the lifestyle of ‘floating’ classrooms.

This part used to be botak (bald). Now, they are decorated with pedestrian bricks.

From its outlook, you can see its an art room. Well we don’t do our art in our classrooms. I had fond memories with this bilik seni. Although my skills in art is rather noobish, the moments were fun. I wonder if the art teacher is still around.

Ahh the infamous girl’s toilet. This toilet used to be the hot topic around because it was the dirtiest female toilet in the school with sanitary pads all over the place. The stench were quite awful. But that was 16 to 11 years ago. Since the current principle (he used to be my ex penolong kanan 1) is such a hygiene freak, I bet he already did something with it.

Seems like I was wrong. Looks like floating classes are still around. Well at least it was not a dual class at my time. It is one of my favorite classrooms because it is pretty far away from the teacher’s office. Yes, my class is one of the noisiest and rowdiest class around. It is also the first class I had when I was in Form 1. For some reason I felt a little eerie standing here alone snapping pictures. Hint:- It gotta do with some of the spooky stories I wrote earlier.

Hmmm I noticed that the desks are smaller this time around. It wasn’t THIS small when I was in Form 1. Looks like the myth that we had midgets in the current generation has proven to be a fact after all. Froddo Baggins would love it here.

Well said, well said.

I was greeted with a spectacular sight. My school was given the nickname of Bermuda Triangle because there is a Surau, Chinese temple and a Hindu Temple at each corner. You can find lots of banana trees at this area though. No, the fruits are not for sale.

It’s really nice to study here because the inner part of the school is located at kampung area while the outer part is located at town area. I generally prefer the kampung side of my school because the air is fresh and it is always chilling during morning. Poor neighboring villagers had to put up with our noise for many years. This is probably why I am not going to buy a house next to a school in the future LOL. Honestly I enjoyed my short ‘lawatan sambil belajar’. The school is definitely cleaner and colorful now because I felt like walking in a park but education wise I am not too sure. Maybe ex Berangians can update me on this for losing touch with my alma mater for a decade.
