Some one drowned
March 31, 2008
Updated:- apparently the body has yet to be found and you can read about the news report here.
While I was jogging, I saw a large crowd on the bridge that leads you to the Malacca Tesco. The people are looking at the river. As usual, being a human, I was also curious and wanted to have a look.
The crowd was so big it causes severe traffic jam on the bridge since the road that leads you to Tesco is pretty narrow.
Initially I thought it was some vehicle that lose control and plunged itself into the river because I saw the fire brigade. I was wrong.
I had a chat with one of the police officer and he told me some one drowned. The victim was fishing. He slipped and fell into the river when he tried to adjust his fishing net. The fire brigade launched a massive search for the missing body.
The firefighters are discussing among themselves on which method to use in order to retrieve the missing body.
Based on what the people among the crowd told me, the team has been searching for hours until they determined that the body is stuck right under the river. The mixed reaction was pretty interesting. Some say the victim is an old man. Some say he’s a young man. Some even say he’s a kid.
Pity the victim. A fishing outing turns out to be his final day. In the end, he had to be ‘fished’ by the firemen.
I left before they finally dug up the body. Furthermore I was going to attend dinner later on so it is not really advisable to see a bloated body up close.
