Lately the Chinatown of Malacca is facing flood threats even though it did not rain too heavily. Such things had never occured too often in the past before unless there are heavy downpours. Something must be terribly wrong with the river when it overflows way too easily even if there is a normal downpour. Finally I found one of the factors that causes flood to hit Chinatown lately when I talked to one of the residents there. What they told me is quite interesting. It seems that the sleepy guys who are controlling passageway of the river forgotten to raise the level when it rains. Man, I was so perplexed when that resident told me about the embarrasing blunder. That is typical malaysian civil service for you but I don’t think it is the only factor that is causing the river to overflow. It seems that the beautification work of the river might also be the culprit.
