Proton Hybrid Cars?

Date June 27, 2008

I wonder when will Malaysian carmakers start producing electric cars. The answer could be “NEVER”. When it took them 20 years to ’successfully’ change the outlook of Proton Saga, how long do you think it would take them to development electric cars? So yeah, the Saga continues. Previously all they did was introduce minor facelift with the same price tag. No changes in price one.

You still pay the same price tag for a model that never changes since 20 years ago. But things are changing. They finally introduced the latest Saga model they are proud of. The people’s car. Yeah, it’s people car because it’s cheap mah. Not because Malaysians are proud of it or what lah. If it’s cheap, big, got 4 windows and 6 doors (if you consider the boot and bonett as doors), we the Malaysians ought to be proud of it. I mean 20 years down the road, we FINALLY had a brand new model made from ’scratch’.

Although the front looks like Savvy while the ass looks like an illegitimate offspring from mercedes C class. But who cares right? That’s what the Chinese Car makers do all the time with their QQ (because they do not how to spell CUTE hence QQ) and HaFei cars. If the world’s most populous nation is doing all the pirating work, our local car makers should emulate their feat by making another cheaper model! It doesn’t matter if the car suddenly catch fire because it’s part of the publicity stunt. Bad publicity or not, bad publicity is still publicity. Sorf of.
