Jason Lo must be really happy that Chelsea is coming to Malaysia for a friendly match against the national team. I won’t be too surprised if you happened to see Malaysian Chelsea supporters outnumbered the national team itself because such phenomena is quite common in this ‘Super League’ nation (although I have struggled to find anything ‘super’ in that local league itself except looking at the team playing at a super slow pace speed). Ever since Avram Grant was sacked few months ago, the Malaysian authorities don’t have to worry about Chelsea’s Israeli link anymore and they can easily leave Benayoun back in London without any hassle.
So the Avram’s sacking is truly a blessing in disguise. Please bear in mind that the national team is not looking for a victory but as long they do not concede more than 3 goals against a top European team, it will be consider a great achievement for this tiny South East Asian country. If they really lived up to their traditional ‘whipping boys’ rep, they can always blame their lack of stamina on Nasi Lemak.
