Kuala Lumpur’s central and congested transport terminal - management, want Road Transport Department enforcers to be stationed permanently there to curb illegal ticket touts. -Malaysiakini
Actually, illegal touts are not the only annoying ones lingering in Pudu Raya station. Touts from legitimate bus companies are also damn bloody annoying at the same too. Yes, I understand they have to work harder to compete with each other in order to get higher commission but it’s really irritating when they get physical. It’s been awhile since I took buses from KL to Malacca.
The last time I travel by bus was 2 years ago. I used to travel to KL by car then. Ever since the petrol was increased to a whopping 78 cents months ago, I had to travel by bus to save some dollah. At least I don’t have to face annoying touts in Melaka Sentral. So then I completed my work in KL and I need to purchase return tickets back to Melaka. I saw touts every where. I don’t recall seeing so many them 2 years ago but their numbers are massive.
I wanted to search for Delima Express but I wasn’t too sure where the ticket booth was. I also got distracted by the constant ‘harassment’ by touts at the same time. They just swarmed around you like vultures asking questions such as “Nak pegi mana? Nak pegi mana?” and it was pretty hard to ignore them when I was standing right there looking for the Delima Booth.
There was this middle age woman who got pretty physical by pulling my hands to their booth when I mentioned I wanted to buy return tickets back to Malacca. She should count her lucky star for being a woman because if she happens to be a guy, she is going to get verbal abuses from me. Seeing that she was so persistent and I was running out of time, I relented and bought a ticket from her booth. Turns out it was a bad decision after all.
I got a lousy bus in return and the stench was unbearable thanks to the with non existent air condition. I’ve learned my lessons well and I won’t give in to the touts and Delima or KL-Malacca express will be my sole choice next time. I fully support Puduraya’s plea in wanting RTD to eliminate touts for good. Commuters deserve to be left alone in peace deciding on which buses to take.
