Reading the whole Allah controversy reminds me of one case. What case, you may ask?
This epic trial between McDonald’s and the inferior McCurry.
McDonald’s claimed that they have legitimate rights of the Mc prefix while McCurry believes the prefix is universal (in other words, Mc is for all).
Does this sound familiar to you? If it does, then read on.
To be honest with you, I felt McDonalds can learn alot from the controversial ruling.
First, set up a facebook group to rally its supporters from all over the globe.
2nd, get at least 2 million supporters to protest against Mc Curry for using the Mc prefix.
3rdly, hope that the International court will chicken out from the mob protest, grant McDonalds stay of execution to disallow McCurry from using the Mc prefix to pollute the sanctity of Ronald McDonald.
After all, what is McCurry compared to McDonald? So stupiak of McDonalds. They should have use this approach to win their case convincingly but thanks to the creativity of UMNO backed NGOs, they have finally shown the way to McDonald’s to win against McCurry.
It is important for McDonalds to win this case because a victory to McCurry will lead their faithful consumers into a state of ‘confusion’
Now, that was merely McCurry. What if it was McDonuts? I don’t even want to start with McDonut because the spelling sounded almost the same with McDonald’s. I wonder if the composer of Old MacDonald Had A Farm song will sue McDonald’s for copyright infringement because the former existed way before Ronald McDonald hit puberty?
I am afraid the controversial ruling might give birth to cases like;
• British Christians will claim ownership over the word “God” because it refers to “Christian God”.
• The Jewish will claim ownership of Yahweh because the Hebrew word is their birth given right and nobody else but Jewish can use it.
• The Taoist and Buddhist Chinese will claim ownership over the chinese character “?” because it generally refers to Chinese deities.
• Malaysian Mamak Stall Organization will claim ownership over the phrase “Roti Canai” and Singaporean Mamak Stall Organization will claim ownership over “Roti Prata”. Both of them will claim that their best roasted flour is the real deal. Yeap, Roti Canai gang will say their roti is the real deal while Roti Prata gang will dispute their claim and say their Roti Patra is the true and ultimate roti.
• Kids can no longer call their father as “father” and they willl have to replace it with Daddy or Dad because Vatican City will claim ownership over the word.
• Indians will be banned from using Murugiah because it is blasphemous to name a mortal after Lord Murugiah.
Oh God, please save us from this embarrassment.
